Tieback
anchors are typically installed to provide shoring support for existing
earth walls. They may be installed as a combined foundation package that
includes the structural support of a new structure using bored or driven
foundation wall (secant piles, H-walls, or sheet steel), or may be provided
as a stand alone retaining wall system. |
|||
| Retaining
walls are constructed from the top down and protect the surrounding facilities
from the adjacent deep excavation. Forasol’s engineers work with the
project engineers at every step to assist in determining the optimum support
system for each project. |

Support
for the retaining wall is provided by tieback ground anchors. Internal wales
and braces are used when easements are not available for ground anchors
or when surrounding underground utilities or structures would prohibit the
use of tieback ground anchors. In most other situations, tieback ground
anchors are preferable as they provide unimpeded construction access for
the below ground portion of the proposed structure. |
|||
| Whatever
the ground conditions, Forasol has the expertise to install high capacity
ground anchors. These anchors may be temporary or permanent. Temporary ground
anchors will provide lateral support to a retaining wall to allow the construction
of an underground structure. Once the structure is built and capable of
resisting the earth pressures imposed by the surrounding soil, the temporary
ground anchors are redundant and may be detensioned or abandoned in place.
Permanent anchors have additional corrosion protection to isolate them from
the corrosive properties of the surrounding soil. Permanent anchors are
relied on to provide lateral support to the wall for the design life of
the structure. |
